Medical Device Testing Services

Kestrel Labs has developed a unique specialized wet lab for in vitro studies of medical devices. The lab allows: benchtop testing of photoplethysmographic devices on tissue simulators circulating human or animal blood over essentially all possible analyte levels and over an extremely wide range of clinically possible hemodynamic conditions; precise testing of invasive and noninvasive blood pressure instrumentation; testing of various other invasive and noninvasive medical instruments and prototypes; environmental testing of ensors and devices including thermal and humidity cycling and static elevated or reduced temperature tests. Testing services include:
  • In vitro (laboratory) testing of monitoring device concepts, prototypes, and commercial instrumentation
  • In vivo testing and calibration of commercial prototypes and pre-510(k) or PMA products

Radiometer OSM3 Hemoximeter Service, Calibration, and Performance Testing

Kestrel Labs owns and maintains several Radiometer OSM3 CO-oximeters and, given that they are no longer supported by Radiometer, has had to develop expertise in the maintenance and service of these instruments. Because many other labs have recognized the importance of these instruments, and found themselves in a similar position of needing service for these instruments, Kestrel Labs now offers its services to repair, maintain, and calibrate these instruments for outside labs. For additional information on Kestrel Labs' OSM3 service capabilities please see: OSM3 Service.pdf

Please see Publications for White Papers containing additional information specific to the OSM3 and the current state of CO-oximetry including documentation on:
  • Verifying Monochromator Alignment (Verification of calibration)
  • Shipping
  • Handling
  • Shutdown
  • Storage

Please contact Kestrel Labs directly for detailed information on any of these services.
