Two milestones, one announcement. Kestrel has joined Autodesk’s AECO Technology Partner Ecosystem, and the Kestrel add-in for Revit is live in the Autodesk Design & Make Marketplace, with support for Revit 2024 through 2027.
The marketplace is where Autodesk users find and install add-ins for Revit and the rest of the Design & Make portfolio. For architects, that shortens the distance between hearing about Kestrel and running it: find the listing, install the add-in, open a model, run a check.
From there, Kestrel Compliance Analysis works the way it always does: one click inside Revit runs a compliance review against the codes for your project and jurisdiction in about 30 seconds, maps each violation to the exact model element involved, and cites the applicable code section using official code data licensed directly from ICC. Move a wall, run it again.
The AECO Technology Partner Ecosystem is Autodesk’s program for companies building on its architecture, engineering, construction, and operations platform. For Kestrel, it means a listed, supported presence in the ecosystem where most of our customers already work, and a direct working relationship with Autodesk’s partner organization. We wrote about our first AECO Technology Partner Summit back in April; this makes the relationship official on both counts.
It also reflects how we think compliance should be delivered: inside the tools where design decisions actually happen, distributed through the platforms design teams already use. Kestrel is available in the Trimble Connect Marketplace as well, so firms can meet us in whichever ecosystem they build in. The direction of travel is the same everywhere: building code compliance is moving into the BIM model.
